Land tour of Aitutaki - highly recommended! My husband and I had the pleasure of doing a half-day land tour of beautiful Aitutaki with Ted and Stevie, and had a wonderful time. The tour took us to points of interest all over the island that we never would have known about, or been able to get to otherwise. Part historian, part philosopher and all-round nice guy, Ted is passionate about preserving Aitutaki's history, culture and traditions under threat from prevailing forces unwilling to allow for views other than their own, and the way he shared his encyclopaedic knowledge gave us new-found respect and lots of insights into this beautiful place and its people. The tour took around three hours and included a delicious and very plentiful morning tea, a demonstration of how to expertly open a coconut and lots of great banter. A real highlight of our week in Aitutaki with lots of food for thought, we highly recommend this authentic experience.

A beautiful day sailing to One Foot Island One of my favourite days in my life! Ted and Stevie gave us such an amazing day! Sailing on their catamaran on a beautiful sunny warm day with a gentle breeze, we stopped at islands, went swimming, were provided with a home made delicious lunch, and lots of friendly chats. No stress! Just pure pleasure. Stopping at One Foot Island, where the beauty is incredible, and the water clarity and colour are jaw droppingly stunning, was one of my favourite places in the world to visit. Aitutaki Lagoon is sooo gorgeous too. We were able to walk from a sandy beach on its own, to a nearby island, through the water. Ted was very friendly and skilled with his sailing. He let my husband have a sail too, which kept hubby very happy. An extremely enjoyable and wonderful experience. I would definitely go again.

Perfect thing to do on the lagoon Our trip around the lagoon with Ted and Stevie was definitely the best thing we did in the Cook Islands. We went on the vaka tour as well, but being out in the sea with just the wind in your face and the sound of the ocean was an experience that went beyond all other ways to be out in the lagoon. Ted is a passionate and experienced sailor who took the time and patience to give my two teenage boys the chance to sail themselves - both found this a highlight of their trip, Furthermore ted explained the legends of the motu and the changes to the area due to plastic pollution and climate change. All of these things had a massive impact on the young crew! This was an amazing way to see the beauty of Aitutaki (turtles, crystal clear water and all that) through the beauty of her people. Oh, and also the food was great. We chose to sail more than snorkel, but Ted is super accomodating and whatever floats your boat, he will let you go for it - snorkel, explore, sail sunbathe or whatever I imagine! Meitaki maata Ted and Stevie, this was truly a once in a lifetime experience for me and my family ๐Ÿ™‚

Authentic Aitutaki Adventure! We were lucky enough to spend a magical day out in the lagoon with Ted. Our day was spent soaking up the sunshine, drinking fresh coconut water, snorkeling with an array of tropical fish (including an appearance from a turtle!) and eating delicious food prepared by Shelly, Teds other half. We explored the local islands and even got to plant a baby coconut tree on paradise island! We will be coming back in a few years time to see how much it has grown ๐Ÿ™‚ You cannot beat the sailing experience. No noisy boat motor scaring off the sea life, so as we sailed along the turtles were popping their heads up checking us out! Ted, a local Aitutakian, was full of knowledge and such a welcoming and thoughtful host. I would encourage everyone to book a trip out on the water with Ted, you cannot ask for a more authentic and magical experience.

Aitutaki Highlight What a magic way to experience the incredible Aitutaki lagoon. Ted's an expert sailor and passionate about his home and sharing it with others. The weather turned on us later in the day - but we still had a brilliant time zipping about in the wind and warm rain. Totally recommend.

Such an amazing day with Ted! Sailing with Ted and his daughter Stevie was amazing! It is such a perfect way to experience the magical Aitutaki lagoon. So many colours of blue that seem unreal. Ted is an expert sailor, so we felt very safe and well-taken care of. Lunch was excellent too โ€” lovely salad and all sorts of tropical fruits. Heโ€™s highly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Aitutaki too. We canโ€™t wait to come back and go out with him again. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Must do Aitutaki Having done the Bishops cruise the day before, which was excellent, Teds tour of the Lagoon was the perfect way to finish our holiday here. Sailing around this idellyic destination is something special, Turtles ofen popping their heads up close by the boat seemingly comfortable with our presence vs the motorised option the day before. Literally letting the wind take us wherever it would allow us. Snorkeling without a crowd, listening to Teds knowledgeable commentary and stories, dining on fresh tropical fruit....truely a memorable day!

Ted's sailing was the highlight of our trip to Aitutaki! We spent a fantastic week on Aitutaki and saw a lot of the island, but nothing compared to being taken out by Ted on his Hobie Kat! Ted's knowledge of the lagoon is second to none and his knowledge of the islands history made for the best day of our holiday. Ask him for a fresh coconut drink, it is pure theatre. HIGHLY recommended!

Hats off to Captain Ted The whole experience has been amazing! We had our own private, nature-friendly catamaran, and explored the lagoon, reaching remote places that motorised boats can't get to. We even got to the touristic places like One Foot Island before anyone else, so we had the island to ourselves. The snorkeling places we went to were superb, with hundreds of beautiful fish surrounding us, not afraid of humans, since they barely see any.And just being on the boat, with the wind in our hair, hearing nothing but the waves, was amazing. Can't recommend Captain Ted and Sailing Aitutaki enough

Private outing was highlight of our recent South Pacific trip We had an excellent adventure with the unflappable Captain Ted. We powered through an unpleasant morning weather wise and sailed to the lessor-visited Bird Island. Ted provided an amazing picnic lunch on the beach, right down to the fresh coconut water, that quickly erased the suffering we'd experienced in the wind and rain - strictly a function of our crappy timing. The skies finally cleared for literally smooth sailing back to Aitutaki. He provided for a full day's outing for the same money a cruise-ship tour would have cost us but with the addition of a lot of interesting background information on the Cook Islands. I highly recommend Captain Ted.

I went sailing with my best friend and it was our first time doing so! I easily get sea sick but being in the water in Aitutaki I have had no issues with sailing either! What an awesome experience watching turtles swim the lagoon and riding the waves and Ted just being the amazing man he is allowing us to enjoy every moment of this experience. We didnโ€™t take our phones as we wanted this experience to be intimate but I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed sailing! Thank you Ted for our amazing lunch and laughs and talks and mostly our experience! Will definitely sail again!

This was definitely the best experience we had in our trip to the Cook Islands. Ted is an amazing sailor and we loved our time on the lagoon with him and Stevie. Thereโ€™s nothing better than just water and wind to connect with the amazing lagoon, and I loved that Ted took the time to help my younger boys out with their first time sailing! This was a beautiful day with beautiful people that we will always remember. Thank you Ted and Stevie, meitaki maata for everything ๐Ÿ™‚
